The name Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät is derived from the Sylvin language, as Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät was founded by Ya̋ń Séchīb 'Bite Violet' Rānvéch Jóoīy Vú̄̄kī̄, who was culturaly Gnoll.

The establishment of Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Ya̋ń Séchīb 'Bite Violet' Rānvéch Jóoīy Vú̄̄kī̄ struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät as a prison colony.

Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Slæ̈rn Kjollïjk-jät is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts.
